Job Development

Supported Employment, Job Skills Training, Job Retention, and Job Coaching

Supported Employment is provided for individuals that are severely disabled, have the potential to engage in training leading to supported work, have the ability to work in an integrated work setting, and who, because of the severity of their disability, are not able to function independently in competitive employment without intensive on-going support services.

Consumers who are referred to Supported Employment by Vocational Rehabilitation Services, are assessed for vocational abilities by the facility before job placement. Support services are provided by the facility with the use of employment specialists who match the individual to the job and train the individual on-the-job until job performance criteria are met.

Job Skills Training

For those consumer who need short term assistance, Job Skills Training can be provided at the work site by an employment specialist. This short-term training will continue until the consumer is able to perform the job successfully without assistance.

The Center offers services in Calhoun, Clay, Cleburne, Coosa, Randolph, and Talladega Counties.
